Sweet Home Alabama...Remi's Shower

On Saturday, family friends hosted a shower for baby Remi in Alabama at my parents church. It was so nice to see dear friends and family that I don't get to see very often. Some, I haven't seen since our wedding in 2004!!!

We are so blessed! I opened gifts for nearly 2 hours!! We received so many wonderful gifts...from little denim dresses to stuffed lions to diapers and butt paste :) Anticipating all the little girl clothes, I took an empty suitcase along to bring back gifts. But, that oversize suitcase wouldn't even fit all the wonderful things inside! We will be receiving two other large shipments with more gifts for our sweet Remi. One things for sure...at least for the first 12 months of her life, she'll have cute little outfits to keep her nice and warm!!

Here are some photos of the big event. THANK YOU to all who planned and hosted and thanks to the many friends and family who attended. Miss you all already!

A special SHOUT OUT to Parker who shuttled me from Atlanta to Alabama and back to Atlanta!!! THANK YOU, you're the best!!!

The Home Stretch...Third Trimester, Here We Come!

We have made it to the third trimester...13 weeks to go, or 91 days. We remember how far away that seemed before. Now, oh how close it seems that our baby girl will be here!!

I made the mistake of watching A LOT of baby shows, birthing stories etc. and have a lot of anxiety about the labor and delivery of this much anticipated event. I really want to deliver this lil'girl, but am scared to death about doing so. My tolerance for pain is ZERO and I tend to faint when I have any sort of pain. I know, I know...our bodies are designed to do this....women have done it for centuries...the make drugs for that...you'll be fine...TRUST ME, I've heard it all! But, that really doesn't make my anxiety any less. I'm trying not to think about it and am just keeping my focus on the end result...Remi's arrival :)

What's else has been going on other than my nervous breakdowns about labor and delviery? We have put some finishing touches on the nursery and I'm getting ready to head south next weekend for my shower in Alabama. I'm so excited for my first shower and can't wait to see everyone!!!!

As for doctor's visits, my health is good and baby's heartbeat on Jan. 6th was strong. I have had swelling in my feet/ankles. Nothing to worry about yet, but we are watching it.

She's moving around a lot...it's so amazing!! Randy finally felt her kick him last week. It was the coolest thing...the kicking AND seeing his reaction!! :)

Finally, as you see...I've gotten up the nerve to post some "belly shots" of lil' Remi in my belly. I've come to the realization that it's not cute and round like most, but to me & Randy...it's cute and we love it! :)

Operation Nursery: COMPLETE!

First of all, we've decided on a name for our sweet baby girl. Her name will be Remi Caroline Partin. We're in love with the name and can't wait to meet our Baby Remi :)

Remi is the name that we've always loved and chose years ago. Caroline is a "family" name...named after both her Granny (Krista's mom) and her Grandma (Randy's mom) who are both named Carol. Also, Randy's maternal Grandmother and Aunt Peggy were Caroline's as well.

Secondly, after weeks of Randy's hard work on Remi's nursery...it's finally complete. Randy worked long days and nights to get it done and I must say...it looks amazing and we are both so pleased with the final result!!! :) We started the nursery before we knew we were expecting a baby girl, so we were going with a neutral theme. We both loved the theme so much that we left it as we had planned, yellow & green. A ton of pink is sure to come with blankets and clothes I'm sure.

Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa Frank (Randy's mom & stepdad) for the beautiful nursery furniture. And thanks to Granny and D-daddy (Krista's parents) for the beautiful nursery bedding set.

Here's a look at the finished product...
