Ladies and gentlemen...It's a GIRL!
After waiting with anticipation, we had an ultrasound yesterday as a gift from my sister and found out that we have a beautiful baby girl!!
She's just perfect!
She was moving around yesterday for the big event. We think she was a little excited for the big photo shoot :)
Randy was in shock at first, but mom had a hunch all along!!! We are both just tickled pink!!
Sorry...no photos to post right now. But once I get back home to MI, I'll post some...I promise! Just wanted to share the most wonderful Christmas gift of all...ever!

It's a....
Sorry folks, it's going to be a surprise! The doc didn't take the bribe, and we're getting pretty used to green and yellow, or as Randy likes to refer to it..."sage". We're just fine with the facts...it's meant to be a surprise! Plus, we'll be on the edge of our seats for the big day when the doctor says... "It's a XXXXX!"
I had my 20 week appt. today and baby is healthy and doing great. Heartbeat today = 152 beats per minute. Just perfect!
I had to do my first sugar test today to test for gestational diabetes. We should know the results in one week and whether or not I'll have to do further testing. Hopefully, all is well.
The baby furniture has arrived and Randy is busy getting the nursery under way. Once it's all done, we'll post pics for all to see. Buck has been checking out the stuffed animals already in the nursery. He's confused why these aren't downstairs in his toy basket. He's in for a rude awakening once the baby arrives, but we also have a lot of love for this big brown baby of ours!!! :)
We registered at Babies R Us on Saturday and after 4 hours...the registry is now complete. WOW! What an undertaking!!! We were overwhelmed to say the least, but are happy to have that taken care of.
We're traveling to Alabama on Christmas Day to spend a little time with my family, so we are looking forward to that.
I remember when 20 weeks seemed so far away, but now it's here and we're on the downhill slope from here on out. It's all starting to feel real and we couldn't be happier!!! This lil' baby has so much love already, we can't wait until he/she arrives :)
Sorry for the lack of photos...I look the same so just try to picture that ;)

Ultrasound Report = Modest Lil' Baby
After weeks of waiting for the 2nd trimester ultrasound, we are happy to report...lil' baby is healthy and that's the main thing to us right now :) So afterall we have a happy report!!! Baby weighs...8 oz. and heartbeat is 144.
As for the sex...Lil' baby Partin was sitting Indian style in the womb...all nice and snug, so no news on pink/blue. I jogged...I ate a sucker...I jiggled my belly...I drank 20 oz. of Mtn. Dew...I ate chocolate...and NOTHING! :(

I go to my doctor on December 9th, at which time I hope she'll feel some sympathy and do an ultrasound to determine the sex. As most of you know, as an event planner...I HAVE to know! But, if lil' baby doesn't want us to know...there's not much we can do about it.
So, once again...Stay Tuned!!!!
Here are some pics from the ultrasound.
Full body shot!

We've got movement!!
They say it's hard for a first time mother to tell if their baby is indeed dancin' around in their belly. But, after reading numerous books and articles, I'm ready to officially declare...we've got movement!!!
Friends have said that they detected movement that seemed like gas or indigestion, or butterflies. Mine = tummy growls. It has been happening right after I eat that I'm sure...that's how I knew it wasn't hunger. :)
So the big day is Wednesday...so exciting! We can't wait to check lil' baby's progress...and find out what paint we'll need to pick up at Home Depot...pink or blue :)
Maybe lil' baby is like their mom and a morning person...since the ultrasound is at 7:30 a.m.! Randy is not a morning person...AT ALL, but me...I'll be up at 6 a.m. making sure the bladder is emptied and filled back up, oh and that lil' baby has a dose of sugar :)
Stay tuned...and hopefully we have an active baby on Wednesday.

16 Week Update
Nothing HUGE to report, but wanted to give a 16 week update.
I went to the doctor today and after searching for a few minutes, my doctor found our baby hiding with a strong heartbeat of 152 beats per minute! We heard the lil' baby kicking around too which was very cool!
All is going great and I'm finally past the "morning" sickness, and boy am I happy that's over!!! :) I was sick until around 14 weeks, but the past two weeks have been great. I feel great other than the usual fatigue.
Randy and I have been to Babies R Us twice searching for the nursery furniture, but no luck so far. We're just not convinced that they are the only place in Detroit to find baby furniture! So, if you have any secrets...please share :) These two trips we've left the store feeling SUPER overwhelmed. I've spent a lot of time online looking for nursery themes and baby names.
Two weeks from tomorrow we find out the sex of the baby and make sure the baby is growning as it should. I tell you, that day couldn't come fast enough! That is the day before Thanksgiving -- God knows we have a lot to be thankful for this year!!! We're so excited!!!!
So, check back in two weeks for the big news!

Jelly on the belly!
We went to the doctor today for my 12 week appointment and all is good!
My doctor did the jelly on the belly first to try to hear the heartbeat. Because Randy had taken the day off, and I had taken 1/2 day....we were expecting to see the baby through an ultrasound...so we told her that. She said (with a grin) if the baby doesn't cooperate, we'll have to do an ultrasound. So...when she was trying to listen for the heartbeat, I told the baby to "go hide!" and it did :) We all busted out laughing and Randy and I got our wish...an ultrasound :)
We saw the baby...who waved at us and was doing flips and dancin' all around! It was the most amazing thing we've seen yet!!! Lil' baby's heartbeat was 167 today. Fast and strong! I wish I could've seen the looks on our faces...priceless, I'm sure. :)
No photos to share, but in 6 weeks we get to have the big ultrasound at the hospital with the really nice machines as my doctor put it. They'll give us all the measurements and good stuff like that...and of course, tell us what lil' baby Partin is....a boy, or a girl?!?! Stay tuned for the big reveal!

Patience is a virtue!
Finally...Randy and I are happy to announce....we're expecting a lil' addition to our family...April 25, 2009! We are so happy that God has blessed us with a baby after years of trying to conceive. We have faced our challenges along the way, but now everything is going great and our lil' baby is growing and all is good. We were going to wait until the official 12 weeks/1st Trimester wrapped, but the excitement is killing us and we're ready to shout it from the rooftop!!! :)
I am 11 weeks along and I'm feeling all the affects of pregnancy including fatigue, hormonal mood swings and morning sickness....which for me is "late night" sickness and anytime it feels like rearing it's ugly head. The nausea has been there since day 1 for me, but the actual vomiting didn't come until 8 weeks. Nice timing too...right in the middle of our friends' wedding. Yep -- that was me...the pregnant girl...in the bathroom....tossing her cookies! It's a myth that if you have nausea, your pregnancy is strong. Myth or not, it makes me feel more confident that this lil' being is following all blueprints and growing as it should :)
We've been to the doctor twice and we saw the heartbeat the first time, then on the second visit...I heard the heartbeat...172 beats per minute...loud and clear!!! :) My mother-in-law told me that she always thought it sounded like a horse gallop -- and by george...it did!! So exciting! :) We've seen the baby and the amazing growth. We've got our baby's first photo - framed in our kitchen to remind us each day how lucky we are!!! :)
Since a lot of our family live far away, we look forward to sharing all things baby along our journey. So, please come back often and keep updated on lil' baby Partin! HOWEVER, I must say that the belly shots may not be as plentiful as my size 2 friends :)
Only 7 more weeks until we find out...will it be pink or will it be blue!?!?!
