Remi's Birthday Adventure!
We celebrated Remi's birthday with friends and family yesterday with a Birthday Adventure, Dora the Explorer style! Due to crazy Michigan April weather, the plan of an outdoor adventure had to change and the party was moved indoors. We still had a great time and I think the kiddos enjoyed the adventure. The kids designed their very own backpack, just like Dora, and then went on an adventure. First they visited Sneezing Snake Lake, then off to The Nutty Forest and the last stop...Rainbow Rock! With each stop, the kids picked up a special treat to add to their backpack. It was a lot of fun!
It was a great day! Thanks to everyone for making Remi's third birthday extra special!!

Remi is THREE!
Our sweet girl is THREE! Randy and I took the day off to spend it with the birthday girl. We started the day with a balloon-filled room in the morning....bright and early at 5:45 a.m.!! Remi came running in our bedroom and said, "Mommy! Can you please turn my light on so I can see the new toys those people brought me!?" A little confused with all the special visits over the past few months from Santa, the Easter Bunny and such. Sweet girl! She opened gifts and played for bit then off to Big Boy (her favorite restaurant) for a breakfast celebration! We go to Big Boy every Friday night and she's been eyeing the birthday wagon for months! FINALLY...the birthday wagon arrived at our table and she was so excited. We then went to Detroit Kid City and the toy store for a special treat. Then, for dinner....her BFF, Audrey, came to dinner. We ate her favorite dinner, spaghetti and ended the day with cake and singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our sweet girl! What a day! Perfect for our little princess.

Spring is in the air!
It's been Spring...and then not Spring. Spring again, then not Spring. So...with a nice day yesterday, we decided to have a dinner picnic in the park and enjoy every bit of the day! It was just the girls....me, Remi & "baby Stella" (named after our sweet friends Sara & Dave's brand new baby girl, Stella).
We enjoyed our dinner on a blanket on the beautiful green spring grass, then headed to the park to play. Full speed ahead as Remi RAN to the park from our picnic! She didn't even want all of her cookie!
She met a new friend and her smile was as big as can be! She is very interested in new friends, learning their names and how old they are. She's very excited for her birthday next week. If you would have asked her last week how old she was, she would respond "I'm 2...almost 3!" This week, her response, "I'm 3!" with a big smile! Almost little lady....almost! Sniff sniff! I can't believe my baby is 3! That's another thing...she's very quick to tell you, "Mommy, I'm not a baby...I'm a big girl! But not a big big girl!" It's really cute!
Here are some pics of our evening together!

She pushed that stroller all the way to the park.
She was soooo excited too!
Thank goodness I took the wagon, because we towed it home...Ha!

Chocolate Bunnies, Peeps & Jelly Beans...OH MY!
The Easter Bunny made his way to Elmwood Avenue as anticipated! Thank goodness!! We were worried. And boy did he spoil our Roo! The bunny also led us on a hunt for four baskets throughout the house too! Remi loved that! Poor bunny...on his way out the front door. He slammed his tail in the door leaving some fur behind. Poor guy!
We went to church and Remi loved her new Easter dress, then afterwards to the Nelson's for Easter brunch and an egg hunt. So fun!!
We hope you all had a blessed Easter! We did!!

A big girl bed...for our big girl!
In August, we made the transition from crib to toddler bed. And now, out sweet girl is growing so fast that she has moved into a big BIG girl bed. Her crib is a convertible bed (crib to toddler to full size bed) and is now in it's final stage! When we put it togeter, we had anxiety and sadness at the same time. We were sad to see our "baby" in such a BIG BIG bed! It seemed HUGE the first few days and she still seems really small sleeping in it, but she seems to be doing much better. Here are some pics of Remi's big BIG girl room!
Our little Goldfish!
Remi started swim lessons yesterday at Goldfish Swin School in Rochester and she LOVED it! She went right in...no questions asked. She didn't even flinch when the teacher started talking to her. If there's one thing our Remi is not, that is shy! She'll talk to anyone...reminds me of someone I know (ahem...myself!) But she loved the class. It's only 30 minutes, but we will go every Saturday. It's going to be so wonderful to see her progress.
Here are some pics of our Goldfish in training!
