Many Many Blessings!...Remi's Michigan Shower

Today was our Michigan shower at Shield's Pizza in Troy. My, oh my, does little Miss Remi have a lot to be thankful for!! I was going to wait until tomorrow when I wasn't so tired, but I just couldn't wait!!!

I've said it before, but I'll say it again...we are SOOOO very blessed with so many wonderful people in our lives and Remi was showered once again by friends and family with anything and everything she may need.

Eleven of our dearest friends put together this wonderful event and I have to say a HUGE thank you to you ladies -- Sally, Kara, Diane, Jenn, Sara, Christa, Heather, Billie, Noreen, Kim and Maggie. What a GREAT shower! Thank you!!!!

Another thanks to the so many who traveled a distance to be at the shower with us today!!!

Here are some of the pics from the day. When Randy and I got home, with the help of Devon, my AU roomie from Cleveland, we sorted through everything and played with all the many colorful gifts...mostly pink ;) And...we had to put something together, so the swing it was! :)

Thanks everyone, for helping us make this wonderful memory!!

31 Weeks...Tomorrow :)

We had an ultrasound this morning because my doctor thought Remi may be a little bigger, possibly moving my due date. Well, she's not...she's "just right."

At 30 weeks 6 days, lil' Remi weighs 4 lb. 1 oz. and is in the 75 percentile. I have never understood the whole percentile thing...so I asked. The tech said if there were 100 babies, she would be the 75th largest. Anything below 10th and above 95th is bad, so Remi is right on schedule. However, Randy and I are still betting she'll be early. His pick is Friday, April 17. My pick is Tuesday, April 14. I guess we'll see. As a punctual individual, I would rather her be early rather than late for her scheduled due date :) Not too early! But, as we all know...it's not a planned entrance. Babies tend to make their debut when they feel the need. So as of tomorrow, we're still 9 weeks out.

Here are some pics from the ultrasound. It's sometimes hard to really make out what these pics are, but all mothers and fathers-to-be want everyone to see their blossoming bundle of joy...so here you go!

First -- Remi's face. She was very active, as usual, giving us the stare. It's said to be her hair at the top - the white fuzziness. It better be...I've been keeping Zantac in business since October! HA!

Second -- Remi's lil' feet -- her right foot is resting in the arch of her left foot. Can you see it!?!?!

So a quick status on "us" --
I lifted the vacuum on Sunday...normal task gone bad. I threw out my back and have spent most of this week looking at people's shoes as I walk, but today I'm almost upright and feeling much better. It's still tight, but I'm working through it. My OB sent me to a physical med doctor and they have me in PT 3x a week. We'll see. I think I can heal on my own. However, during this week...lil' husband has been a champ, cooking dinner each night and waiting on me hand and foot :) He's a real gem!

We're getting excited for our shower here in Michigan next weekend. We're very excited to see friends and family and show off the baby Remi bump :)

Oh, and one last thing...I asked that the ultrasound tech to please confirm that my baby girl is in fact a girl...and yes, it's a girl :)

A typical Tuesday....I don't think so!

Today, Randy and I spent our day in the...triage labor and delivery! I slipped on some black ice this morning and when I hadn't felt her move I called my doc and they had me go in immediately to check on the baby. I was a mess, so a coworker drove me to the hospital and Randy met me there and they admitted me. They couldn't find her heartbeat for about 30 minutes, so the midwife on call performed an ultrasound...and there she was...all curled up, resting. They said that because of my stress, my veins tightened up and when that happens it slows everything down for the baby and that's why we couldn't get her heartbeat at first. So, they hooked me up and we sat there for 4 hours listening to her heartbeat and they monitored me for contractions...which I didn't have a single one! Thank goodness!! Remi's heartbeat is strong and once I calmed down, she was as active as ever!!! What a little sport :) We were at the back of the triage L/D area and my monitor had sound...and the volume was pretty loud. The nurses thought it was funny because after a while she was moving around so much that they could hear her kicking at the nurses station :) That's my girl...and as the nurses described her,...a feisty lil' one!!

It was so scary for us!!!! But, now I'm home and resting with a few bruises that I didn't leave with this morning. The most important thing...our baby girl is doing great! :) We can just think of this as a bonus photo session for Remi! Although, her mom and dad would've just settled for a scheduled ultrasound in 2 weeks. However, we did learn today that our Remi is head down and weighs 3 lbs.

Stay tuned for updates.

Sweet Home Alabama...Remi's Shower

On Saturday, family friends hosted a shower for baby Remi in Alabama at my parents church. It was so nice to see dear friends and family that I don't get to see very often. Some, I haven't seen since our wedding in 2004!!!

We are so blessed! I opened gifts for nearly 2 hours!! We received so many wonderful gifts...from little denim dresses to stuffed lions to diapers and butt paste :) Anticipating all the little girl clothes, I took an empty suitcase along to bring back gifts. But, that oversize suitcase wouldn't even fit all the wonderful things inside! We will be receiving two other large shipments with more gifts for our sweet Remi. One things for sure...at least for the first 12 months of her life, she'll have cute little outfits to keep her nice and warm!!

Here are some photos of the big event. THANK YOU to all who planned and hosted and thanks to the many friends and family who attended. Miss you all already!

A special SHOUT OUT to Parker who shuttled me from Atlanta to Alabama and back to Atlanta!!! THANK YOU, you're the best!!!
