Tour de South!

We just returned from our trip to visit family and friends down south and what a great trip!! We put over 2,000 miles on our new mini van and it was a great vacation.

First stop: Charlotte, NC
Uncle Bo, Aunt Kim, Anna Grace & Luke

After 11 years of living in Michigan, I was finally able to see my neice, Anna Grace, perform in her school play on Friday night - The Jungle Book! She was a great monkey and we loved it!!! I even teared up because I was so proud of her and the fact that we were there to share that memory with her. On Saturday, we spent the day on the lake with my bro and his fam. What a great day and Remi is a born boater...she loved it!

Next stop: Atlanta, GA
College roomie, Parker, hubby Wes and newbie Aubrey!!

On Monday we arrived in Atlanta to visit my college roomie, Parker, and her fam in Canton, GA. She and her hubby Wes, just welcomed baby Aubrey in March and we couldn't wait to meet her and spend some time with her!! She's precious! And Remi really liked her too. It was a short visit, but we are so happy we got to visit.

Final destination: Sweet Home Alabama
Great-Grandmaw Hester, Nannie, Great-Aunt Barbara
Granny, D-Daddy, Aunt Chelle, Uncle Scott, Chan and Vannah

On our way from Atlanta to Gadsden, we stopped at my grandmother's homes to visit and soaked up these short visits. Seeing these special ladies is always priority for me!! :) And my Aunt Barbara - couldn't do a visit south without seeing her! Afterall, I'm her favorite ;)We arrived in Gadsden Tuesday afternoon, where Granny & D-daddy were anxiously awaiting her, I mean our, arrival!

Aunt Chelle was busting at the seams to see her Roo, so she stayed with us from arrival to departure, waking up extra early both days to spend quality time with Remi. And THAT is HUGE...she's NOT an early riser!

We gave D-daddy his father's day gift - a backyard makeover. We worked so hard and it looks wonderful!! It was fun too...I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with my sister doing this project :)

In two short days, we soaked up my fam...and that Alabama heat!

To summarize:
*It's HOT down south!
*Remi's a great traveler
*Remi learned a new song - the Strawberry Shortcake theme song! :)
*Daddy's a great driver!
*Our minivan ROCKS!
*Gas is cheaper down south!
*It's always sad to leave my family...no matter how often I see them :(
*We missed Buck and Remi's been hugging him all morning :)

Sorry for the long post, but...I'm a details girl ;)

It's potty time!

Today, Remi went on the big girl potty for the first time...at daycare...so we weren't there to scream and shout when it happened.
HOWEVER...her teachers stood in for us and handled the "praise" portion of potty training. So - it's on!
Another HOWEVER...they also said that she acted like it was no biggie, so we'll see if she remains interested or not.
We're going to try, but we won't force her.
I just thought this was a "milestone" and wanted to share our little video with our blogger friends and family :)
I must also share that I can't believe this is here...my baby...peeing on a potty! Where did the time go?!?!? Sniff Sniff!
